NME Double page spread

This is a very typical layout for a double page spread. My double page spread plans will match this however will still vary greatly as my feature is on album sales rather than a band interview. The use of Polaroid pictures in this article familiarise the readers with the bands day to day life and lets them connect with them. It features band members having fun in day to day tasks and lets the audience know that they are just like regular people.

Features to note here are the positioning of the main headline and the story description underneath. In most double page spreads the main headline will be featured in multiple colours and sometime spreading across the page. As seen here there is also often an introduction to the story, whats written in the introduction is crucial as it can often be the main piece that convinces the reader whether or not they would like to read the article and, in some occasions, whether or not they will buy the magazine.

Another noticeable thing about this magazine is again the lack of colour presented inside the magazine. I plan to run a constant vibrant tone in my magazine as this is more likely to attract a reader when flicking through the magazines.
